United Aromatherapy Effort, Inc.
2019 Yearly Summary
We had some exciting updates in 2019. As of last Summer, we have been listed on the Guidestar.org website! We are also available on AmazonSmile and as a charitable cause on Facebook. More information about these and the types of donations that you can make, can be found here.
Thank you so much to everyone who set up fundraisers and donated using these options over the last year and please continue to think of us in the future.
We continue to operate out of our two hubs, one in Florida and one in Texas. They both receive supplies, organize, repurpose, and make care packages to go out as needed. This makes it easier to receive donations and ship out to our contacts on the ground or give them out ourselves if the need is local.
Texas Hub 2019 Report:
The Texas hub is located in Austin and is run by Amy Kreydin, NBCR, CCAP, BD with lay volunteers from the community on-call when needed. Amy’s business covered the cost of any additional supplies needed to respond to requests as well as shipping and gas expenditures.
January 2019 – NAHA donations arrived. Donated Plant Therapy cups to Austin Humanists at Work where they distributed them to the homeless.
April 2019 – Put together 7 kits for the Community Advocacy & Healing Project run by Fatima Mann for their special Mother’s Day outreach effort in which mothers who had lost a child to violence were being pampered. Each kit contained: 2 tea bags, 1 relaxation aromastick, 1 immune aromastick, 1 ceramic diffuser box, 1 body wash, and 1 tub of body butter, all placed in a drawstring bag.
September 2019 – Put together supplies for the Community Advocacy & Healing Project flooding response for Beaumont, Texas for those affected by Imelda. Fatima Mann delivered 28 bilingual kits of 1 aromastick and 1 roller bottle, 80 body wash samples, 20 lavender sachets, and 4 bars of soap to churches that were without power and running water. The churches set up portable showers and handwashing stations so Amy chose soap to assist with hygiene efforts.
The Texas hub ended the year with supplies on hand thanks to previous donations and the NAHA donation of leftover goodie bag items from their 2018 conference.
Florida Hub 2019 Report:
The Florida hub is located in Plant City and is run by trained aromatherapist Judy Klispie, M.S., ED.S. with other aromatherapists that volunteer as needed.
The Florida hub did not receive or distribute any supplies during 2019 and ended the year with supplies on hand due to donations received the previous year.
